Traditional Coffin - $2000 + S/H

Thank you for taking the time to consider our hand made traditional Russian Orthodox coffin.  If this is a time of sadness and bereavement for you and your family, our condolences go out to you.

Our efforts at Kizhi woodworks are focused on providing a traditional alternative to the existing secular burial casket selection.  Our coffins are carefully hand made, mindfully following the shape and form passed down through generations at The Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville, New York.

Please keep in mind that by law you are free to select a coffin or casket from any source.

For the coffin, we utilize locally harvested and milled Select Northern Pine, with some knots.  The exterior is a furniture quality finish with Red Mahogany stain, and semi-gloss polyurethane.  The interior is neatly upholstered on all interior surfaces  with fine unbleached muslin on a padded foam base.

The coffin includes the following features:

A full length Cross is hand painted and lettered in antique gold on the cover.

'Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, Have Mercy On Us' is hand painted on the top sides, in Slavonic or English.

An unbleached muslin Savan (throw) with a beautifully embroidered Cross.

Solid Brass handles.

Dowels and latches for a secure closing mechanism.

Dimensionally, our coffins will fit within all burial vaults and liners.

Please keep in mind that by law you are free to select a coffin or casket from any source.

PLEASE NOTE, AT THIS TIME WE CAN ONLY BUILD A PRE-ORDERED COFFIN, WITH AT LEAST 30 DAYS LEAD TIME.  OUR APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
